Prep roundup: Sullivan boys lose close one to Evansville North

SULLIVAN — Host Sullivan led almost the entire game in high school basketball Saturday night, only to be overtaken at the end 64-60 by Evansville North.

The Golden Arrows had a 49-42 lead at the end of three quarters, but the Huskies — who came from behind for a four-point win over Terre Haute South a night earlier — caught and passed the home team when Robert West was fouled on a 3-point attempt and hit all three free throws for a 59-58 lead. The visitors protected their margin with free throws.

Ian Perkinson had 27 points and Michael Willis 10 for Sullivan, while C.J. Hedgepeth had 27 of his own and DeMarshaun Sherman 12 for the Huskies.

EVANSVILLE NORTH (64) — Hedgepeth 8 11-16 27, Millikan 2 2-3 6, West 2 5-5 9, Dixon 2 3-5 8, Sherman 4 2-2 12, Mulherrin 1 0-0 2, Gulledge 0 0-0 0. Totals 19 FG, 23-31 FT, 64 TP.

Turkey Run 62, Eminence 54 — At Marshall, Ind., the host Warriors erupted for 30 points in the fourth quarter — with the help of 12-for-16 free-throw shooting — to hold off the Eels in a game that featured 44 total fouls.

Dewey Ashley and Jacob Budd led Turkey Run in scoring with 17 points apiece. Budd also grabbed 14 rebounds, while Jake Amstutz and Jarred Russell contributed 12 and 11 points respectively. Eminence’s high scorer was Brennan Ringler with 14 points.
