Brazil Open concludes with close finishes

BRAZIL, Ind. — Close finishes again marked the Brazil Open, which concluded Sunday at Forest Park.

Dave Williamson shot 65 on Saturday and followed it up with 71 in the final round to win with a 6-under-par 136 score in the event, sponsored by Riddell National Bank.

That was one better than the 137 posted by Ezra Evans who went 68-69 to finish second for the second straight year. He lost in a playoff a year ago.

Troy Farris took third with 139, firing 67 in the first round.

Flight winners were Terry Kendricks, Mike Roshel, Luke Jerrells and Bubba Atkinson.

Gary Dockins was first in the senior division at 136, and George Amies was second. Jerry Snodgrass won the first flight.

Winners in the junior divisions were Keegan Roembke (16-18) and Sam Grimes (14-15), while Kristen Mikesell took girls honors.

The Hall of Fame Cup will be played this weekend at Hulman Links.
