Prep roundup: No. 3 Covington holds off Rockville

ROCKVILLE — Class A No. 3-ranked Covington held off host Rockville to post a 64-48 Wabash River Conference victory in boys high school basketball Friday night.

Chandler Spring paced the winners with 26 points, while Jordan Ahrens added 12. Rockville’s top scorer was Keiontre’ Wilkey with 12 points.

    Thoroughbred races were on Friday’s card to wind up four days of Illinois racing at the Martinsville Agricultural Fair. Horses owned by Bart Baird and Lance and Stacey Holsapple won all six of the thoroughbred races on the card with two other features run for ponies and mules.
