BECHTELSVILLE, Pa. — Chase Stockon won his first U.S. Auto Club feature for sprint cars Tuesday night in the opening race of the Eastern Storm Championship action.

The Sullivan native led wire to wire in winning the 40-lap main event at Grandview Speedway. He waited out a rain delay, which came after the heat races.

With his first victory of the season, Stockon moved to third place in the sprint point totals and assumed first place in the Eastern Storm standings.

“Tonight was one of those nights where you could really feel the speed. We had a fast pace especially after the restart. We came out here with the main goal of getting a win … it is nice to get it right at the start,” said Stockon, who got the jump over fellow front-row starter Jon Stanbrough on a lightning-quick race track.

Stanbrough finished second and Dave Darland took third.

At New Oxford, Pa., rain wiped out Wednesday’s feature at Lincoln Speedway. Stockon was second in his heat to qualify for the feature. The series continued Thursday at New Egypt, Pa.
