PREP ROUNDUP: Several prep events re-scheduled

North falls to Cascade in wrestling; West Vigo boys swimmers prevail

TERRE HAUTE — Several high schools have re-arragned schedules after last week’s snow and cold snap. Here’s a roundup:

Sullivan & Terre Haute South

* Wrestling match at South will be at 6 p.m. on Jan. 23.

West Vigo

* Wrestling at South Vermillion moved to Thursday. (Originally scheduled for Jan. 11)

* Boys basketball at Riverton Parke play on Saturday (Jan. 10).

* Boys and girls basketball at Owen Valley will play on Jan. 27 (Jan. 20).

* Boys and girls basketball at home against Edgewood on Jan. 29 (Jan. 7).

* Girls basketball at home against Shakamak on Feb. 1 (Jan. 9)

* Girls basketball at home against Rockville on Feb. 3 (Jan. 6)

* Boys basketball at home against Greencastle on Feb. 5 (Jan. 11).

* West Vigo’s boys basketball game at Marshall will have a junior varsity tipoff time of 2 p.m. on Feb. 15.

Northview

* Boys and girls basketball at home against Brown County on Jan. 18. Junior varsity girls start time is 1 p.m. with all other games to follow.

* Boys and girls basketball at home against Owen Valley on Jan. 21.

* Wrestling at home against Edgewood on Jan. 23.

* Northview boys basketball game at Mooresville on Jan. 29.

* Cascade 37, TH North 33 — At TH North, the Patriots won six matches, but were edged by the visiting Cadets.

120 — J.J. Low (THN) dec. Hunter Fox 8-6; 126 — Grant Reed (THN) won by forfeit; 132 — Dallas Lakes (THN) won by forfeit; 138 — Austin Manly (C) pinned James Fields 2:38; 145 — Zach Batts (C) dec. Tyler Gilmore 3-1; 152 — Casey Fox (C) pinned Sean Elia 1:43; 160 — Luke Nelson (THN) won by forfeit; 170 — Dylan Stucker (THN) pinned Logan Brickert 2:30; 182 — Ryan Moshak (THN) won by forfeit; 195 — Sean Bayse (C) pinned Zach Schmidt 2:24; 220 — Nick Evans (C) maj dec. Dakota Londo 10-0; 285 — Lukas Stoutenour (C) pinned Connor Dwyer :52; 106 — Sean Fox (C) pinned Adam Elia :58; 113 — double forfeit.

Next — North (5-4) plays host to Bloomington South on Thursday.

Swimming

n West Vigo’s boys win, girls tie — West Vigo’s boys swim team won a tri-meet with Owen Valley and North Vermillion on Tuesday. The boys won with 179 points. The girls tied Owen Valley in the tri-meet. Each team finished with 73 points.
