Terre Haute South’s No. 1 doubles team of Miranda Camp and Nicole Howe has been named to the all-state second team by the Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association, it was announced Monday.
Camp and Howe finished in the top eight of the state individual doubles championships on Saturday, winning one match and then losing to the eventual state runner-up team from Park Tudor. It was the second straight trip to the finals for the two players.
Also honored by the IHSTCA were South’s Lauren Hambrock and Terre Haute North’s Anna Potter. Both are honorable-mention singles all-state players.
• Michl breaks coach’s record — At Indianapolis, Indiana State senior Leeann Michl realized a two-year goal Saturday night when she ran a school-record time in the 800-meter run at the American Milers Club series at IUPUI.

Michl’s previous best had been 2:06.28 at the 2012 Auburn Tiger Track Classic, but Saturday she finished in 2:05.57. That time also made the “B” standard for the upcoming USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships.
