Terre Haute 12s dominant at Little League state tourney



* Kokomo 9, Post 346 2 — In Saturday’s first game, Alec Blair had two hits and Jones a double and an RBI.

* Post 346 7, Bristol 6, 8 innings — In the losers’ bracket championship, Brandon Curley was 2 for 2, tying the game with a two-run sixth-inning homer and scoring the winning run on a sacrifice fly by Taylor.


* Roembke third — At Indianapolis, Northview High School player Keegan Roembke placed third in the boys 17-19 division in a Mountain Dew event played Friday at Morningstar Golf Club.

Roembke carded an 82 to take third. Tanner Dean of Greencastle placed sixth with 88.

Auto racing

* Clauson wins again — At Bloomington, Bryan Clauson won his second straight Indiana Sprint Week feature race Friday night at Bloomington Speedway.

Clauson led the final 13 laps to win the 30-lap main, recording his 21st U. S. Auto Club sprint car victory.

Sullivan native Chase Stockon was second in the main and Brady Bacon took third. Stockon trailed Clauson by .551 seconds at the finish.

Clauson took a 26-point lead over Bacon into the Sprint Week finale at Haubstadt on Saturday. Clauson also was the leader in the USAC sprint car totals.

Blake Fitzpatrick won his heat and was 18th in the feature race.
