Prep roundup: West Vigo softball stays unbeaten in WIC

TERRE HAUTE — Leah Morrison hit a two-run homer during a six-run sixth inning to help West Vigo claim the first half of a high school softball doubleheader against Brown County by a 7-5 score Saturday.

West Vigo rolled to a 13-0 win in the second half of the doubleheader.

Highlights — Leah Morrison was the winning pitcher and had a two-run homer and teammate Baylee Waters went 3 for 3.

Highlights — For West Vigo, Kenzie Little went 2 for 4 with a double and Shelby Edington 2 for 2 with a double.

In other softball Saturday:

Patriots sweep — At Indianapolis, Terre Haute North pounded 29 hits in sweeping Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference games Saturday over North Central 15-5 and host Ben Davis 13-2.

Terre Haute South split its games, beating North Central 15-0 but losing 14-6 to the Giants.

Conner Nelson drove in seven runs in two games for North. The Patriots had a 14-run inning against North Central.
