Metro golf: Jones, Keen survive three-way playoff at Brazil

BRAZIL — Tom Jones and Chris Keen went overtime to win a two-man scramble concluded Sunday at Forest Park.

Jones and Keen were tied for first place with two other teams after 36 holes, all with 20-under-par 122 scores.

Jones and Keen had rounds of 58 and 64 and took first place with a  birdie on the second playoff hole.

The other two teams continued the playoff to determine second place.

The Zimmerman-Mark McCammon team won the first flight on a scoreboard playoff, tying Jason Kyle and Mark Neaderhiser with 129 scores.

Andy Jones and Kevin McRea didn’t need a playoff to win the second flight with their 127 score but three teams tied for second with 133.

• Engineers third — At Franklin, Rose-Hulman’s men are third after the first two rounds of the 72-hole Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament.

The final two rounds will be played this coming weekend at Defiance, Ohio.

Transylvania leads, with Mount St. Joseph in second place. Rose-Hulman has shots rounds of 305 and 318, led by Sanders Park with rounds of 70 and 74.
