PREP ROUNDUP: West Vigo girls down Paris 12-4

Shelby Edington and Brittany Voils hit home runs for West Vigo softball, and Ciera McClain went 4-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Vikings to a victory at Paris by a 12-4 score.

Leah Morrison picked up the win for the Vikings.

Highlights — For West Vigo, Ciera McClain went 4-for-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs; Shelby Edington had a home run; Brittany Voils had a home run; and Kenzie Little went 3 for 4. For Paris, Goldsmith went 2 for 4 with a double.

Next — West Vigo (2-2) plays tonight at home against Owen Valley.

• Northview tops Bloomington South — At Brazil, Madison Nevins had a two-run double, and Whitney Halfhill scattered three hits for the Knights.

•Clovers win — At Rea Park, Cloverdale defeated West Vigo 183-205 on Monday in the first dual match of the season for both teams.

Aaron Whitlock of Cloverdale carded 42 for medalist honors and Freddy Fislar had 44 for the Clovers. Nick Leek led the Vikings with  43.
