DELAND, Fla. — Indiana State allowed 47-percent shooting to host Stetson on Monday night, Sasha Sims leading the Hatters with 24 points in a 90-74 victory against the Sycamores.

Indiana State fell behind 48-34 five minutes into the second half, the Hatters quickly extending a 35-27 halftime lead.

ISU responded as Lashonda Littleton came up with a steal out of the Sycamores’ full-court pressure and passed to Racheal Mahan for a 3-point play to cut the deficit back to nine.

Following a technical foul on ISU coach Teri Moren, the Sycamores cut the lead to six, but the Hatters bounced right back with five points to make it 62-51.

Jasmine Grier came off the Sycamores’ bench to hit a pair of 3-pointers that kept the Stetson lead at six, and Anna Munn hit one of her four 3-pointers on the night with 5:31 to play, but Stetson wasn’t rattled.

Jama Sharp drove for a couple baskets and Sims, the Atlantic Sun Conference Preseason Player of the Year, knocked down her free throws to help the Hatters hold on.

Marina Laramie scored 12 of her 14 in the first half but battled foul trouble most of the night. Mahan and Munn also had 14 apiece.

Littleton added 10 points and six rebounds.
