Prep roundup: Greene County tourney rescheduled

TERRE HAUTE — Weather permitting, play will begin in the Greene County Invitational for boys high school basketball teams tonight at White River Valley.

With the schedule change, no consolation games will be played and the semifinals will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday morning.

All Greene County Invitational games are slated to be broadcast on radio station WQTY-FM 93.3.

Thursday’s schedule


6 p.m. — Linton vs. White River Valley followed by North Central vs. Eastern Greene.

Friday’s schedule

6 p.m. — Bloomfield vs. Union followed by Clay City vs. Shakamak.

Saturday’s schedule

10 a.m. — Semifinal games.

6 p.m. — Third-place game.

7:30 — Championship game.

In other boys basketball news:

• Time change — Starting times for Terre Haute South’s home matchups against Evansville Reitz on Saturday have been moved up.

Originally slated for traditional evening starts, junior varsity action will now begin at 4 p.m. EST, with the varsity contest to follow at approximately 5:30.
