Terre Haute North sweeps Rox in boys tennis

TERRE HAUTE — Terre Haute North High School’s boys tennis team swept Rockville 5-0 on Wednesday. The Patriots earned 6-0, 6-0 sweeps in three of the matches.

North’s No. 1 doubles team of Sam Wolf and Keaton Akers and No. 2 doubles team of Justin Newton and Gabe Sevigny plus No. 3 singles player Andrew Farmer earned those victories.

Singles — Tate Egan (THN) def. Garrett Baysinger 6-1, 6-0; Ethan Caldwell (THN) def. Kurtis Overpeck 6-1, 6-0; Andrew Farmer (THN) def. Brandon Knoblett 6-0, 6-0.

Doubles — Sam Wolf-Keaton Akers (THN) def. Chance Becker-Craig Overpeck 6-0, 6-0; Justin Newton-Gabe Sevigny (THN) def. Dakota Whitmer-Anthony Stowe 6-0, 6-0.

Next — North (6-3) plays host to Northview and Rockville (record not reported) plays host to Turkey Run today.
