Oblong and Robinson both were victorious in quarterfinal games of the Illinois girls high school basketball Class A Lawrenceville regional on Monday.

Oblong earned a decisive 56-32 victory over Palestine-Hutsonville. Nikki Chiddix and Kristin Henry led Oblong with 22 and 18 points, respectively.

In the second quarterfinal game, Robinson topped Red Hill 51-32. Lindsay Rich led the Maroons with 23 points, while Kylee Anthony topped Red Hill with 10 points.

Oblong (8-12) will play host team Lawrenceville at 6 p.m. (CST), while Robinson (8-16) opposes Newton at about 7:30 p.m. (CST) today.

Palestine-Hutsonville concluded its season with a 2-22 record.

Skylar Buckley led Chrisman with a game-high 16 points. Katie Norman paced Atwood with 14 points.

Boeglin receives national honor — Indiana State senior All-America candidate Melanie Boeglin has been named the College Sports Television National Student-Athlete of the Week for her 46-point scoring effort at Drake (Jan. 26).

This is first CSTV honor for Boeglin in her career.

The marketing major (3.88 cumulative GPA) is also an academic all-star, having won five Prairie Farms Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week awards during her four seasons and has been named Academic All-MVC in each of the past two seasons.

Indiana State has captured two of the last three WBCA National Academic Team titles.

ISU men’s ticket package — The Indiana State athletics department has announced a special ticket package for three upcoming men’s basketball games. The Sycamores host Bradley (Wednesday), Wichita State (Saturday), and Northern Iowa (Feb. 14) in their next three games.

Fans can purchase a single upper-level ticket to all three games for $12. Tickets are also available to two of the three games for $10. Single game tickets are $8. Fans can purchase tickets at the door, or contact the Hulman Center ticket office at (812) 237-3737.
