Metro Roundup: ISU football holding final scrimmage today

TERRE HAUTE —
The Indiana State football team will conduct what is expected to be a full two-hour workout in their final preseason scrimmage at 7 p.m. today inside Memorial Stadium.
The scrimmage is free and the public is welcome to attend. Fans are asked to enter through the gate at the Northeast corner of the stadium.
ISU opens the regular season at Eastern Michigan on Aug. 28.
Golf
• Horrall-Meyer team wins — At Hulman Links, Sharon Horrall and Stephanie Meyer combined for a 68 on Saturday to win the Terre Haute Women’s Golf Association’s partner scramble.
Next tournament for the THWGA is a four-person scramble the morning of Sept. 27.

• Juniors on track — A junior dragster shootout was part of Saturday’s card at Action City Dragway USA.
This week, Fun Night runs are slated Friday with regular racing Saturday. Racers will have the last chance to qualify for the ET Finals in the last night race of the season. Time runs are from 2 to 5 p.m. with eliminations at 5:30.
The Scheid Diesel Extravaganza is Sunday.
