Riverton Parke Jr.-Sr. High School will honor its community's veterans with its annual Veterans Day Program at the school on Friday, Nov. 9, at 9 a.m.; all local veterans are encouraged and invited to attend. The program is organized by the high school's National Honor Society under the guidance of Sande Bemis and Sue Ellen Cleghorn.
Annually, the program features a presentation of the nation's colors, music by the school's choir and band, and numerous guest speakers. This year's speakers will be Leighton Willhite, a Marine Corps veteran of the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II, and RP graduate Kenny Lowe, a National Guard veteran who served his country in the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Turkey Run Schools will present a Veterans Day programs on Monday. The high school program will begin at 11 a.m. in the high school gym.
John Frank will be the guest speaker. The high school band and choir will perform special numbers.
The elementary school program will begin at 2 p.m. in the elementary school gym. Students will make special presentations.
All veterans are invited and encouraged to attend both programs.
