TERRE HAUTE — Indiana State University Provost Jack Maynard plans to step down as provost and vice president for academic affairs effective June 30, 2013.

“I have submitted my request to President Bradley and he has accepted,” Maynard wrote in a letter to the campus community.

The timing will enable the campus to initiate a search, he wrote.

“It has been an honor serving the campus in this role,” Maynard stated in the letter. There is much to celebrate, he wrote, including strong enrollment, new academic programs, a successful comprehensive campaign and quality athletic programs.

This year will be Maynard’s 10th as ISU provost.

In his letter, Maynard said, “it is my goal” to return to the Bayh College of Education “and to share some of what I have learned in 35 years of college and university administration with the next generation of educational leaders.”

Maynard did not give a reason for his resignation as provost.
