“I am very fortunate to work in a profession where I have the ability to change the future one child at a time,” Southard says in the release. “I firmly believe that teachers can make an enormous impact on the lives of their students, if they are willing to work hard to meet the academic and emotional needs of every child. My role as a teacher is to find ways to reach every child and provide the best possible learning environment. I strive to have a safe and caring classroom where every child is encouraged to participate and develop a love of learning. I want students to love to learn and want to continue to be life-long learners.”
