School plans used prom dress sale

News Release

BLOOMFIELD — Bloomfield High School is hosting a used prom dress sale to help fund its 2013 post prom.

The Prom Dress Sale is scheduled 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 27 in the cafeteria of Bloomfield High on West Spring Street. Admission to shop is free.

The fundraiser is an opportunity for girls to save money buying beautiful dresses or to sell them and recoup some of the money they spent on dresses that are generally worn only once. Dresses will be labeled with the date, location and event at which they were worn.

Sellers are asked to drop off dresses at the cafeteria between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 25.

There is a $5 consignment fee per dress due when dropped off. When a dress sells, an additional $5 fee is due. Sellers set the prices of their dresses.

The post prom, also funded by the parents, is intended to provide a safe place for students to have a fun time after prom in a safe environment.
