Enroll for Twenty-first Century Scholars now
The Twenty-first Century Scholars 2008-2009 enrollment year has begun with two changes. In the past, only seventh- and eighth-grade students were eligible to apply. This year, sixth-grade students also may apply.
The second change is an online application. Families may go to www.in.gov/ssaci/ and submit an electronic application. Paper applications are still an option, too.
Twenty-first Century Scholars is a program that provides free college tuition and support services to students from low- to middle-income Indiana families. In return for the scholarship, students must fulfill certain obligations including keeping a pledge of good citizenship, promising to stay away from crime, drugs and alcohol. Eligibility requirements and the pledge are on the application. Applications may be obtained from school guidance counselors or by calling the support site office at (812) 237-3627. To apply online, www.in.gov/ssaci/.
