High-school juniors interested in learning more about St. Mary-of-the-Woods College are invited to get acquainted with The Woods during an event Friday.
“Get Acquainted Day” is a great opportunity to see and experience The Woods. Prospective students and their families will have the chance to meet faculty, staff, coaches and current students; learn about SMWC’s athletic and academic programs; ask questions about college planning and financial aid; and tour campus.
Founded in 1840 by St. Mother Theodore Guerin and the Sisters of Providence, St. Mary-of-the-Woods College is the oldest Catholic liberal arts college for women in the United States.
About 95 percent of campus-based undergraduate students at the Woods receive academic or need-based financial aid, and, next year, institutional aid will exceed $2.8 million. In addition, the college has joined with Ivy Tech Community College to provide Ivy Tech graduates with transfer grants that can be applied toward the cost of tuition for The Woods’ undergraduate degree programs.
“Get Acquainted Day” is 1 to 4 p.m. To register, or for more information, contact the Office of Admission by e-mail at smwcadms@smwc.edu or by phone at (812) 535-5106 or 1-800-926-SMWC. More information about St. Mary-of-the-Woods College can be found online at www.smwc.edu.
