Riverton Parke Jr.-Sr. High names May Students of Month

— Riverton Parke Jr.-Sr. High School has named senior Adam Lehman and eighth-grader Adam Pruett as recipients of the Pizza Hut Student of the Month Award for May.
Lehman is the son of Jami Lehman and Cheryl Dorrough of rural Dana. He is in the National Honor Society, the French Honor Society, and has participated in track and basketball for four years. He was also on the Academic Super Bowl team for a year. Lehman enjoys being outdoors and playing all kinds of sports. He plans to attend Indiana State University this fall to study marketing.
English teacher Sande Bemis says of Lehman: “Adam is a student who is always extremely conscientious and respectful in class. He makes certain that if he has to miss class that he has picked up his assignments so that he is ready when the class meets the next time. He enjoys learning and is always enthusiastic in class.”
English and history teacher Michael Lunsford added about Lehman: “Adam has great potential. I think he has had a good senior year and is ready to excel at the college level.”
Adam Pruett is the son of D.J. and Robin Pruett of rural Montezuma. Pruett has won drawing awards and enjoys playing football with his friends. Drawing is his favorite activity. He plans to attend college upon graduation, and is undecided on a possible career.
Reading specialist Kathy Alfke says of Pruett: “Adam has really blossomed into a hard-working young man. Every teacher has commented on how much growth he’s made in one year; it is awesome. He accepts help when he needs it and always has a smile on his face. Adam is very pleasant to be around.”
Teacher Nicole Jacks said of Pruett, I can’t say enough good things about him [Pruett]. He will always go the extra mile to lend a helping hand. He is positive and polite in all aspects.”
The Pizza Hut Student of the Month program is sponsored by Pizza Hut Restaurants of Terre Haute and Rockville; each recipient receives a gift, courtesy of Pizza Hut. The Students of the Month are chosen by the faculty and staff at RP for their courtesy, hard work in the classroom and concern for others.
