Kite festival set for May 10

— The Wabash Valley Council of the International Reading Association is sponsoring the first Kite Festival on May 10.
This festival will be for second- and third-grade students. The students were challenged to read 20 minutes a night, five nights a week, starting on March 10 and ending on April 17. If the students complete the challenge, they are invited to the Kite Festival at Meadows Elementary School.
The event will include storytellers, face painting, kite flying demonstrations and kites to be given to students who are successful with the challenge.
The public is invited to come watch the students fill the sky with colorful kites from 10 a.m. to noon.
