Rose hurdler sets school record

ANDERSON — Rose-Hulman recorded three strong performances at the Anderson University Indoor Track and Field Invitational on Saturday.

Senior Sutton Coleman recorded a school record 60-meter hurdles time of 8.10 seconds to rank No. 2 nationally this season and win the event.

Junior Liz Evans cleared 1.69 meters in the women's high jump to earn top honors and still ranks No. 2 nationally in the event.

Senior Jeremiah Edwards added a time of 7.08 seconds to capture second-place honors in the 60-meter dash.

Junior Collin Crowson started the weekend with a personal best pole vault leap to win at Denison on Friday night.

Crowson recorded a first place leap of 15-feet-11 to rank fifth in Rose-Hulman history and improve his national rankings in hopes of qualifying for the 2012 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships.  The effort currently ranks No. 10 nationally.

Rose-Hulman will compete at the Wisconsin-Stevens Point to round out the pre-NCAA indoor season on March 3.
