TERRE HAUTE — In the Rose-Hulman women’s college basketball game, frigid shooting undermined good work the Engineers did in other aspects of the game against Hanover.

The Engineers came out on the wrong end, 55-43.

Rose had an early 8-3 lead, but shot just 23 percent from the field in the first half and 25 percent for the game.

Alicia Hopkins had 13 points and Caitlin Bischoff 12 for Hanover; Elyse Weddle of Bloomfield added five points and five rebounds.

Sheree Williams came off the bench for 10 points and was Rose’s only double-figure scorer. Andi Evers, Addie Johnson, Kelsey Ploof and Carrie Morris combined for 34 rebounds for the home team and Cassidy Cain handed out five assists.
