Rex top Cavemen, raise record to 14-6


HANNIBAL, MO. — Brett Teschner connected for a three-run home run that put the Terre Haute Rex ahead for good Wednesday at Hannibal, Mo., defeating the Cavemen 6-4.

Kyle Kempf led the offense with three hits, driving in a run in the three-run sixth inning. The Rex bullpen held the lead after Nick Cunningham tossed seven innings and allowed just two runs.

Terre Haute (14-6) holds a 3 1/2 game lead on Quincy and Springfield in the West Division. The Rex begin a two-game series at Bob Warn Field tonight.
