Rex fall again to Cavemen, dropping into tie for first place

Hannibal, Mo. — The Terre Haute Rex lost for the third straight night Wednesday, falling 8-2 in the second game of a three-game series at Hannibal, Mo.

The Rex jumped ahead of the Cavemen early in the game with a 2-1 lead in the second, but Hannibal scored three in the fifth and four in the seventh to take the victory.

The Rex (15-11) fell into a first-place tie with the Danville Dans in the Prospect League's West Division.

Manuel DeJesus stole his 12th and 13th bases of the season for the Rex, who take on the Cavemen again Thursday.

It was announced Wednesday that Rex manager Bobby Segal will manage the West Division All-Stars in the Prospect League All-Star Game on July 8 at Bob Warn Field.
