Providence Gift Shop relocating with new name

ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS — The Gift Shop at Providence Center of St. Mary-of-the-Woods will host a grand opening celebration on June 20. The store will leave its temporary location on the first floor of Owen Hall and return to its newly remodeled place in the Providence Spirituality and Conference Center under a new name, Linden Leaf Gifts.

“We love it over here in Owens Hall,” gift shop manager Debbie Victor said. “We’ve been able to engage with a whole new group of staff and sisters. But we’re eager to get back to our space.”

The Gift Shop closed in December 2013 for renovations of the Providence Center. These included the construction of a permanent shrine for Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, the foundress of the Sisters of Providence.

In early January the store reopened at Owens Hall. Since April 20, the shop has conducted an inventory reduction sale in anticipation of moving back to its original location.

The Gift Shop will close temporarily from June 9 until its grand opening. Normal hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, and 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
