TERRE HAUTE — EDITOR’S NOTE: The Tribune-Star’s Church Briefs submission process has changed.

We will no longer accept submissions by fax, postal service or hand delivery. Only emailed reports to community@

Submissions may be approximately 500 words. (Please use computer word count function to measure.) There is no required minimum length.

Editing and proofreading will be limited to typesetting and headlines. Correction of spelling and other errors are the responsibility of the person submitting the report. Please do not use all capital letters.

Briefs must be received eight days before Saturday publication. Please include a contact name and phone number. If announcing an event, list time, date, address and cost; notices will be published the Saturday prior to the event.

Terre Haute  St. Stephen’s Episcopal

Worship services in the historic church at 217 N. Seventh St. are 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday. There is also a noon Thursday service. After worship Sunday join the camaraderie, coffee and conversation.

Blessing of the Animals at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church is at 4 p.m. Sunday in the church’s Mabley Garden. All creatures welcome — furry, feathered, finny, stuffed, or human. Freewill offering to benefit the Terre Haute Humane Society. For safety’s sake, nonhuman critters should be properly vaccinated and restrained with a leash, crate, bowl, etc. Humans should bring a folding chair.

Crossroads Baptist

Our church meets at 26063 W. Kasameyer Drive, Dennison, Ill. It is just five miles west of Terre Haute Courthouse. Sunday school for all ages at 9:30 a.m. EDT, Worship services are 10:40 a.m. and at 6 p.m. with Pastor Walter D. Huyck, Jr. We have nursery for all services. Upcoming Fall Revival, Oct. 6-9, with Evangelist Joe Mark as our guest speaker for all services. Regular revival meetings at the church Sunday, Oct. 6 at 10:40 a.m. and 6 p.m. Weekday revival meetings 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7; Tuesday, Oct. 8; and Wednesday, Oct. 9. A carry-in dinner following morning Revival Service at church. Join us for an old-time revival.
