TERRE HAUTE —
Staff members from the Gentiva Hospice (formerly VistaCare) office will be blanketing the Wabash Valley throughout August, distributing food collection bags and gathering donations for Terre Haute Catholic Charities Foodbank as part of the company’s ninth annual food drive.
Employees at the Gentiva Hospice Terre Haute office and fellow employees around the country are placing food collection bags at health care partners in their communities. They are focused on beating last year’s national record, when the food drive yielded more than 400,000 pounds of goods for donation to charitable organizations across the country.
In addition to food, cash donations can be made at collection sites.
On Wednesday, the Gentiva Hospice office staff will wash cars and serve lunch for a $5 donation to the Food and Funds Drive at the office at 3401 S. Fourth St.
A silent auction is also planned. For more information about how to participate, contact Jaime Bratcher at 812-478-3250.
Terre Haute Catholic Charities Foodbank can provide a minimum of four meals for every $1 contribution. Catholic Charities Foodbank serves more than 32,000 people through a network of 90 member agencies and 12 mobile pantries.
Gentiva Hospice provides a full range of hospice services to patients in a 10-county area including Vigo County. Gentiva is one of the nation’s leading providers of comprehensive home health and hospice services.
