ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS —
Join the Sisters of Providence and the larger faith community of the Wabash Valley for an hour of song, silence and scripture from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at St. Mary-of-the-Woods.
In conjunction with the Year of the River, the Sisters of Providence invite the public to a Taizé prayer service the second Tuesday of each month throughout 2013.
The theme for this month’s service is “Drought.”
The Taizé prayer style was created for all people of faith. It uses candlelight, silence and prayer, both sung and spoken. The prayer services are open to all, with no fees or registration required.
The Sisters of Providence are a congregation of Roman Catholic women religiously committed to serving others by works of love, mercy and justice in today’s world. St. Mary-of-the-Woods is located 10 minutes northwest of downtown Terre Haute.
