TERRE HAUTE —
First Unitarian Universalist Congregation
The church is at 1875 Fruitridge Ave., Terre Haute. Our Service is each Sunday at 10:30 am. Sunday Sept. 9 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Jennie Barrington will present the Water Ceremony - Remember to bring water from a place you visited this summer which is special to you. If you forget, we will have water that you can contribute symbolically. This worship service, sometimes also called “Water Communion,” was first used at a UU congregation in the 1980s. Many UU congregations now hold a Water Ceremony at the beginning of the new church year. Members bring a small amount of water from a place that is special to them. During the service, people pour their water together into a large bowl. As the water is added, each person explains why this water is special to them. The combined water is symbolic of our shared UU faith coming from many different sources. Sunday, Sept. 9 at 9:15 a.m, we invite you to join Our Adult Education Group, The Rationalist Free Thinkers Discussion Group, led by Dr. Ed Warner. They will meet in the library. This week their topic of discussion will be: Articles on Mormonism and Romney (New Yorker Aug. 12 & 20 by Adam Gopink
