The rosary has been a tool for prayer and meditation for almost as long as the Roman Catholic Church has existed. The word “rosary” comes from the Latin word rosarium, which means a rose garland, with the rose being one of the flowers used to symbolize the Virgin Mary.
The power and simplicity of praying with the rosary has appealed not only to Catholics, but to people of all faiths. This Mother’s Day weekend, all mothers, daughters, grandmothers and granddaughters are invited to form the rosary.
