Covenant Cooperative food pantry low on food
Covenant Cooperative Ministry operates a food pantry which serves local low-income families, distributing food, diapers, hygiene and household cleaning items at the ministry located at 122 S. 101⁄2 St.
However, the ministry is running low on meat and protein items, as well as mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, noodles, hamburger skillet dinners, canned juices, cereal, spaghetti and other side dishes.
“We use monetary donations to purchase these items when supplies are low and we accept donations of the same items,” said the Rev. Rose Aycock, executive director and CCM founder. “Persons interested in organizing a food drive for the food pantry, which distributes about 75 pounds of food to each family, should please call 812-478-7700 for more info,” she added.
“For the past 10 years Covenant Ministry has provided for the basic needs of the poor in our community and while need has increased, donations have not,” Aycock noted.

Joy Lady: Finding the importance of truth described in the Bible
The Bible. It’s my favorite book of all time. I read it. I study it. I teach it. I quote from it. I write about it. I sing songs about it. I love the Bible in many formats, for I use several translations and paraphrases. And I’ve even been known to borrow my husband’s Greek New Testament to check on some phrase or word from the original.
