Organist will be the featured guest at church


---- — Organist Benjamin Kolodziej will be the featured guest at an organ recital at 4 p.m. on May 19 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 645 Poplar St.

Kolodziej is a chapel organist at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, adjunct lecturer in sacred music at SMU’s Perkins School of Theology, and organist and director of worship at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Plano, Texas.

 Kolodziej holds master’s degrees in sacred music and theological studies from Perkins School of Theology, SMU. He won first place in the Dallas AGO Young Organist Competition and was awarded the hymn playing prize at the William B. Hall Organ Competition.

The program for the recital will feature music focusing on the Festival of Pentecost. Kolodziej will also perform during the 10:30 a.m. service at the church.

There will be a reception after the recital in the church’s parish center.

Parking is available in the rear of the church off of Swan Street, or across Poplar Street at the Vigo County Public Library lot.
