Chosen Ones, Lesters to perform
Southern gospel recording artists The Chosen Ones and The Lesters will present a Christmas banquet concert on Dec. 5 at Richard’s Farm Restaurant in Casey. The banquet will be served at 6 p.m. with the concert starting at 7.
The Chosen Ones feature two generations of smooth family harmony, blending both traditional and progressive southern gospel music, appealing to a diverse audience. Celebrating 36 years in gospel music, they have performed throughout the United States on television and radio, and in personal appearances. They have released over 20 recordings including four national radio releases.
The Lesters, a well-known gospel group often called “St. Louis’ First Family of Gospel Music,” have been sharing the word through song across America for four generations, with a history of more than 80 years of performances and recordings.

Church plans Ladies Inspiration Day
The ladies of the Clay City Church of Christ will host their 33rd annual Ladies Inspiration Day on Nov. 9, for women ages 13 to 113. The theme of the day is “How Does Your Garden Grow?” The day will begin with a coffee hour from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. The program begins at 9:30 and ends at approximately 3 p.m. A luncheon will be served to those attending at no charge. Nursery care will not be available. All ladies of the community and surrounding areas are invited.

Church to honor veterans Nov. 10
All veterans and their families are invited to worship with the First Christian Church of Clinton during a special service at 10 a.m. on Nov. 10. In honor of those that have given so much to make it possible for the citizens of the United States of America to live in a free county, the congregation would like to show their appreciation by recognizing and honoring veterans during the service, and at a luncheon afterward.
