TERRE HAUTE —
Lord, I’m afraid. Help me. “So, do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you: I will uphold you with my righteous right hand,” Isaiah 41:10.
Lord, I’ve been complaining again. “Do everything without complaining or arguing so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe,” Philippians 2:14-15.
Lord, I’m afraid of failing. “If the Lord delights in a man’s way, He makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand,” Psalm 37:23-24.
Lord, I’m being tempted. “Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever. For the Lord loves the just and will not forsake His faithful ones,” Psalm 37:27-28.
Lord, I’m afraid of the future. “For I know the plans I have for you — plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me and I will listen to you,” Jeremiah 29:11-12.
Lord, I’m so tired. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light,” Matthew 11:28-30.
Lord, I am weighed down by grief. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds,” Psalm 147:3.
Lord, I feel Satan pursuing me. “Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded,” James 4:7-8.
Lord, I feel unloved. “Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us,” Romans 5:7-8.
Lord, my friend says all churches are the same and it doesn’t matter where one attends. “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God,” 1 John 4:1-3.
Lord, I don’t know what to do. “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him,” James 1:5.
Lord, no matter what the question, Your word has the answer. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work,” 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
