ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS — The Sisters of Providence invite the public to another Taizé prayer event at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods to reflect on the joys and wonders of the river through prayer at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the Church of the Immaculate Conception.

The theme for the free monthly prayer, “Flowing River,” will focus on the beauty of the river.

“Who hasn’t put their feet into a flowing river and come away feeling refreshed and renewed,” said Sister Paula Damiano, director of retreats and programs for Providence Spirituality and Conference Center.

Taizé prayers include song, silence and scripture, a Christian prayer style not particular to any one denomination.Taizé prayer services themed to the 2013 Year of the River celebration will continue on the second Tuesday of each month this year.
