Church plans series on earth’s history

Join members and friends of First Christian Church of Clinton on Sept. 21 and 22 for a series dealing with the earth’s history as told in the Bible and confirmed by science. The sessions, presented by David Brown of Terre Haute, are free and open to the public. Brown has worked on Christian radio.

Included will be:

Sept. 21:

• 9 a.m. — “The Bible Explains Dinosaurs”

• 10:30 a.m. — “Science Confirms the Bible”

• Noon — Luncheon

Sept. 22:

• 9 a.m. — “The Last Adam” (DVD for adults and older youth)

• 9 a.m. — “I Dig Dinosaurs” (DVD for K-Grade 5)

• 10 a.m. — “The Relevance of Genesis” (Morning Worship)

• 5:30 p.m. — “Thousands not Billions” (Evening Worship)

Terre Haute

Retreat leader talk on ‘Where is God?’

Sr. Barbara Leonhard, spiritual director, retreat leader and teacher in biblical studies and Christian spirituality, will address the question, “Where is God when God seems silent?” at two sessions on Sept. 26 in Terre Haute.

The presentation will discuss why it is important to acknowledge times in life when faith is difficult, how a number of life circumstances can occur during which God seems silent and where God is during those times.

Session times will be 2 to 4 p.m. in the Legacy Room of St. Margaret Mary Church at  2701 S. Seventh St., and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Parish Life Center of St. Patrick Church at 1807 Poplar St. Babysitting will be available at St. Patrick.

Paris Ill.

Angela Lilly Trio to perform

Southern Gospel group Angela Lilly Trio will perform Sept. 21 at New Providence Church in Paris Ill. The church will have a potluck dinner beginning at 6 p.m. CDT with the trio performing at 7. Everyone is invited to attend and a free-will offering will be taken. For more information contact the Rev. Monte at 217-275-3258.
