Celebrate light and darkness Dec. 20 at White Violet Center for Eco-Justice

ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS — Celebrate the gift of God’s changing seasons with prayer and song at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, in the Reflection Garden behind White Violet Center for Eco-Justice at St. Mary-of-the-Woods. Join us as at the Winter Solstice Celebration as we take a moment during this busy season to give thanks.

“Winter Solstice is the time of darkness and is the longest night of the year. We gather to celebrate darkness and light; both gifts from our generous God,” said Sister Maureen Freeman, director of White Violet Center, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence.

The event is open to the public, free and no reservation is required. In case of inclement weather, the celebration will take place inside the center. St. Mary-of-the-Woods is located 10 minutes northwest of downtown Terre Haute.

White Violet Center for Eco-Justice strives to foster hope and healing for all creation. The center offers leadership and education in the preservation, restoration and reverent use of all natural resources. Learn more at whiteviolet.org.
