Christmas Eve Schedule: 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. worship services
This week Pastor Frank continues the Advent season (Advent means coming) with a sermon on the Goodness of God based upon Isaiah’s prophecy found in Isaiah 61:1-11. As we continue to prepare our hearts, minds, and lives for Christ’s Return each Sunday of Advent has a theme. Last week the theme was “Peace.” This week the theme is “Joy.” We find joy in the goodness of God through the good news God offers. This Good News is of God’s provisions for this life and the life everlasting. We find the goodness of God in the comfort, the peace, the joy, the hope, the love and the gift of eternal life that God offers to each and every one of us. The first Advent was the very first Christmas when Christ, the infant came. Now we are awaiting the Second Advent — Christ’s triumphant return as prophesied in the Bible. If you are curious about what Scripture says about God’s goodness and Jesus’ return, you won’t want to miss this sermon. Pastor Frank’s Sunday Sermons are also available online every Tuesday. You will need Media Player or equivalent to listen. The Web site is www.northsidecommunityumc.org and you will need to click on the link “sermons.” Our mission at Northside Community is a Mission of Compassion as we “Reach the lost, Renew the Church and Reveal the Love of Christ” with compassion, hope and community.
