The Crystal Valley Quartet and Band will play in Union Christian Church at 7 p.m. today.
The Southern Gospel group has recorded six CDs and performed at the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Ky., America’s largest Christian music event. The Crystal Quartet and Band present concerts at churches, school auditoriums, fairs and other places appropriate for gospel music. The quartet performs with a live band, singing old classics, original material and recent hits.
There is no admission charge for this benefit concert. Crystal Valley is donating their services. A free-will offering will be taken with all proceeds given to House of Hope, a faith-based, not-for-profit residential center for people with histories of drug, alcohol and emotional problems. It has a phenomenal success record and there is no charge to residents. House of Hope does not receive funding from the government, denominations or any other organization. Support comes from individuals, a few churches and fundraisers such as this concert.
In addition to the music, listeners will have a chance to meet and hear from residents and staff of House of Hope. They will speak about the wonderful work they do and how they do it with no charge for their services. House of Hope is about 10 miles east of Terre Haute on U.S. 40.
