Pentecost Sunday will be observed with one joint worship service at 10 a.m. The combined sanctuary choir and First Baptist Senior Singers will present the musical “The Church’s One Foundation,” arranged by Lloyd Larson. This musical is described as a celebration of the unity of God’s church and is a reminder that the bedrock of our faith and the cornerstone of the church is Jesus Christ. It is appropriate that this musical is being presented on Pentecost Sunday, which is celebrated as the birthday of the New Testament Church as recorded in Acts 2:1-21. The combined choir will consist of about 50 voices directed by the Rev. Steve Newman, associate pastor for music/worship. The accompanists will be Susan Sneddon and Susan Pittman with narration provided by Beth Allen and T.J. Sneddon. The service will include a Mother’s Day tribute and a children’s story. After the children’s story, children in grades K-3 are dismissed for children’s church. Pre-school Sunday school and child care is available throughout the morning.
