More liberal shortsightedness

I read Mr. Mott’s recent column. He seems a little shortsighted, like most libs.

He starts with name-calling like a first-grader, referring to the tea party as part of a mule’s anatomy. Really, Ronn? Is that the best you can do? Let me fill you in, the “tea” party is an acronym for “taxed enough already.” If you don’t know what an acronym is, go look it up.

I, for one, have paid my fair share. How about you? Secondly, you say the tea party members of the House haven’t “learned their lesson in civics about how to make a bill into law” and they “know very little about how to get things get done in Washington.” Are you referring to how Obamacare was passed?

Do you remember, Ronn, the Louisiana Purchase, the Cornhusker Kickback, reconciliation. That’s how things get done in Washington under this administration. And lastly, did you notice the meeting our community organizer had with a handful of Democrat senators recently? You know, the ones who voted for this mess and are now up for re-election?

Yeah, that’s how things get done in Washington under this administration.

Food no longer tried and true

Now that the FDA has announced that trans fats are no longer GRAS (generally recognized as safe), maybe your food columnist will wise up and stop telling the readers to throw a stick of margarine into every other recipe she prints.

Soon the trans fats will be banned from all foods because of the dangers leading to heart attacks. Maybe she should change the name of her column from “Tried and True” to “Tried and Trash.”
