TERRE HAUTE —
Demolition hits past and future
I returned from holiday travels to bitter cold and even more bitter news: We are about to lose one of the most beautiful facades you will ever see, a building any other city would cherish.
Having survived the plagues of fire and urban renewal, 524 Wabash, along with its neighbors, is marked for destruction. I am now beyond pessimistic for this city. By destroying a past we should treasure, we severely limit our future.

Pastors ignore Bible teachings
I was amazed to read the letter in Sunday’s paper from the pastor and elders of Central Christian Church. How can so-called pastors of a Christian church be so oblivious to the teachings of the Bible?
They have obviously never read it, especially Romans 1:18-27 and First Corinthians 6:9-11, plus others too many to mention here.
These “pastors” have fulfilled Saint Paul’s prophesy in Second Timothy 4:3-4 that says, “For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them what their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.”
Today some “pastors” are preaching political correctness instead of the Gospel.
