Jack H. Dunkley

CLINTON — Jack H. Dunkley, 91, of Clinton, passed away at 8:14 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2014, in Union Hospital Clinton. He was born on Dec. 15, 1922, in Clinton, to John H. Dunkley and Sara Alta Bumgardner Dunkley. He was a farmer and a lime business owner and was a school bus driver for 26 years. He was a member of First Christian Church, Farm Bureau, Half Century Club, and in 1961 was the first president of the Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William J. Dunkley; and a great-grandchild, Sydney George.

He is survived by a son, Robert Jack Dunkley; a daughter, Alta E. “Sister” and Bruce Jordan; grandchildren, Dusty and Brian Kernstien, Terry and Tom Gowan, Bobby and Tommie Dunkley, Alta D. “Sissy” and Jay Grayless, Austin Neil Fuller, Emily Payne and Brian George, Ramie and Corey Tracy, Jessica Lucas and Mickey Fisher; great-grandchildren, Chelsie and Jerry Hancock, Brian “Bub” Kernstien and Hallie Sparks, Braiden Gowan, Ashley Vandevender and Eli “Earl” Bridgewaters, Jayson Robert Grayless, Hannah, Amaya and Alec Hall, Noah Lucas, Jaydyn Hines and Emma Tracy and Brooklyn Gossett; one great-great-grandchild, Myla Belle Hancock; and a special daughter-in-law, Shirley Humphrey.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Frist Funeral Home, 458 Blackman St., in Clinton. Service will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Danny Caulkins officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Immediately following the services, a fellowship meal will be served at the Eagles. Online condolences may be made at:
