Bleeding green at West Vigo HS

On Nov. 2, West Vigo High School inducted its second class into its Athletic Hall of Fame.

Like last year, the Jim Mann Green Dome was in rare company. Representing the second class were Gary Rollings, Dr. Tom Mathias, Brenda Whitesell, Gary Oxford and Pandy (Long) Sinish.

Two teams were also inducted, the 1970-71 Cross Country team and the 1971-72 football team.

Hugs, laughs, smiles and tears ran rampant through the legendary gym with stories and memories going from friend to friend and player to coach well into the night.

Many thanks go to Excalibur Catering for an amazing meal, Front Porch Friends for the table decorations, and Mr. Gelb and the West Vigo strings for providing music to make the night even more memorable. Good news is we get to do it again next year.

In order for someone or team to be selected, there is a nomination process. There are many people and teams worthy of this prestigious award. If you would like to nominate someone, you can do so by picking up an application in the schools main office or go to school’s athletics web page.
