Nichole ‘Nikki’ Lynn Halter

TERRE HAUTE — Nichole “Nikki” Lynn Halter, 26, of Indianapolis, and formerly of Terre Haute,  passed away Friday, May 13, 2014, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Nikki was born March 23, 1988, in Terre Haute, to David Halter and Janet Edwards Halter.

She was a graduate of Indiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She was employed by Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis as a Registered Nurse, where she worked in the N.C.C Unit. She loved her job and loved caring for her patients. She was a caring and loving mother to her son and enjoyed spending time with him outdoors. She loved her family and her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Daniel and Betty Halter; and maternal grandparents, Marge Newton and Bob Edwards. She is survived by her parents, David Halter of Terre Haute and Janet Edwards and her husband Art McGrew of Indianapolis; her loving son, Colton Bruner of Indianapolis; one brother, Josh Halter of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two aunts, Lori Staggs and her husband Michael of Noblesville, and Krystal Short and her husband Ryan of West Terre Haute; one uncle, Rob Edwards and his husband Lester Bohnart of Indianapolis; and three cousins, Ian, Lucas, and Ella Staggs.  

Services are scheduled for Tuesday, June, 17, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, in Terre Haute. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. The Rev. Brett Wilson will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, an education scholarship fund has been set up at First Financial Bank for Colton. Online condolences may be made at:
