TERRE HAUTE —
Daniel Eugene O’Donnell, 61, of Terre Haute, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones, after a short, brave battle with lung cancer. He was born May 9, 1949, in Terre Haute, to Kenneth and Betty Jean (Cook) O’Donnell. They preceded him in death.
Dan is survived by his beloved partner, Rita Kenyon of Terre Haute; one son, Kenneth Daniel O’Donnell of Atlanta; daughters, Tracey Lee O’Donnell of Waco, Ga., and Amy Sue Bossick of Indianapolis; stepdaughter, Amy Lynn Faulkner of Waco, Ga.; brothers, David W. O’Donnell (Susan), and Dennis O’Donnell; sisters, Carol Sue (James Thomas) Walker, Linda Danikow, and Brenda Cash (Gene Jones), all of Terre Haute; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who were like family.
Danny graduated from State High School in 1968. He worked several places including Midland Glass, and for his brother-in-law, as a contractor with his brothers. He later went to work for himself as an independent contract painter.
He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and love for life. He loved hunting, fishing, and playing poker with family and friends.
Visitation for Danny will be Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Thomas Funeral Home, 2200 N. 13th St.. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, with Brother Uwe J. Hansen officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
