Mary Ellen (Rehmels) Jones-Molnar

TERRE HAUTE — Mary Ellen (Rehmels) Jones-Molnar, born June 6, 1929, rose to the arms of our heavenly Father on Jan. 12, 2013. Miss Mary was born and spent her childhood in the Terre Haute area. She then moved to the Three Rivers-Constantine, Mich., area, where she married and raised her family. Mary spent many years as a member of the Three Rivers Church of God. For the past 13 years Mary made her home in New Market, Tenn. She loved to call the Great Smoky Mountains her home. She was a member of Cedar Grove Methodist Church her entire time in Tennessee.

Mary is survived by two children, a daughter, Deborah L. Meringa of New Market, and a son, Mr. and Mrs. Arrel Jones Jr. of Shipshewana; grandchildren, Vallerie Brothers of Sturgis, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. R. (Stephanie) Bontrager of Colon, Mich., Summer Meringa of Three Rivers, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Meringa of Sturgis, Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Meringa of Colon, Mr. and Mrs. M. (Deanie) Finley of Sturgis, and Mr. and Mrs. J. (Janie) Yoder of Goshen; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Gayle Pruitt of Terre Haute; and several nieces and nephews in the Terre Haute and Michigan areas.

After a long illness, Mary passed away at her home in Tennessee. She requested to be brought back to her home and family in Terre Haute. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, and on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m., both at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Little Flock Cemetery, in Shelburn. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Please help find a cure for this dreaded disease. Online condolences may be made at:
